Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for ETL design, development, testing, maintenance, metadata, and implementation of data warehouse initiatives.
- This developer must understand user requirements and be able to implement solutions that ensure requirements can be achieved through high-quality deliverables that support critical work to the organization.
- This will require working closely with other technical teams as well as program area partners in a collaborative manner.
- This person will work with minimal supervision and latitude for independent judgement.
- They should have strong communication, organization, and leadership skills, be willing and able to assist peers, and demonstrate ability to mentor users who are less familiar with the system.
- Being a team player is a key skill for this role.
- This person will develop ETL mapping specifications for loading information into the data warehouse and for ensuring reliability of information loaded.
- They will seek continuous improvement in performance and tuning of data warehouse processes and will work with the team to ensure warehouse data remains secure and all client security standards are followed.
- This developer will monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and organizational standards
Qualifications and Years of Experience:
- Problem resolution, development, and implementation - 8 years
- Excellent clear and concise communication skills, both technical and non-technical, written and verbally - 8 years
- Ability to self-direct and work independently using excellent organizational and analytical skills - 8 years
- Analytical/problem solving skills, including during pots-production periods - 8 years
- Experience in requirements gathering and analysis for data warehouses, including data analysis - 8 years
- Expertise in implementation of large, complex models and processes; experience with data warehouse design, development, and performance tuning - 8 years
- Experience with DB2 - 5 years
- Experience in extract, transform, and load coding using Informatica PowerCenter and/or Data Management Cloud - 8 years
- Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL - 8 years
- Ability to navigate and query a relational database (oracle) to develop and modify reports - 8 years
- Develop design specifications and demonstrate knowledge of Kimball data warehouse design principles - 8 years
- Develop test plans, test cases, and test procedures; conduct unit and system tests; interpret results - 8 years
- Ability to identify and resolve defects - 8 years
- Hands-on experience with Business Objects, Tableau, or other business intelligence reporting tools - 5 years
