Job Description

THE GCIO SD&D team manages multiple critical Mainframe applications. We seek a mainframe developer who will be able to help our team members support incidents and changes. Many of these applications are complex. Incident resolution will require investigating how jobs work and understanding the business logic embedded in these applications to find the incident root cause. We then expect that the analyst will provide inputs/guidance to other teams to solve incidents.

We also manage many modernization projects, migrating Mainframe applications to a modern solution. Future candidates will also help team members with future modernization project efforts.

She/he will also be able to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database, applying knowledge of database management systems.

 

Education & Experience Required:

-              Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required with 8 years’ experience.

-              Bachelor’s degree with 5- 7 years’ experience

Additional Technical Skills

(Required)

-              5+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL programming on IBM z/OS

-              Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and CICS

-              $AVRS

-              Sequential files (naming scheme)

-              OPC (scheduling)

-              Strong communication skills

 

(Desired)

-              Experience in mainframe migration projects or modernization initiatives is preferred.

-              Prior experience with ServiceNow

 

Soft Skills

-              Must have good communication, interpersonal skills.

-              End user knowledge in IBM mainframe and/or any ERP.

-              Strong initiative and the ability to learn quickly are desired.

-              Should have good team skills and positivity for working in a cooperative and diverse team environment.
