Position Title: Data Architect

Location: Roseland, New Jersey (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months (Contract)

Skills: AWS Cloud, Power BI, FinOps  

Job Summary:

This senior role will only be temporary for several months and once designed and built, will be handed over to the Visualization PODs to build the dashboards. As we discussed, please reserved a small limited amount of time of this resource to assist in the initial building of our environments in case our Data Engineers need assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design scalable, secure data platforms on AWS Cloud.
• Incorporate FinOps best practices for cost optimization and financial accountability in cloud infrastructure.
• Provide architectural guidance for the setup and usage of Power BI as a reporting and dashboarding tool.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Visualization PODs to ensure seamless hand-off of the implemented architecture.
• Assist in the initial build and configuration of environments as needed.
• Define and document architectural standards, design patterns, and governance practices.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and security requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud-native data solutions and financial observability tools.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data platform engineering.
• Proven expertise in AWS Cloud services related to data warehousing, storage, and analytics (e.g., Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena).
• Hands-on experience with FinOps practices and tools for cloud cost management.
• Strong command of Power BI for enterprise-level dashboarding and visualization.
• Experience in hybrid and multi-cloud architecture design.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience collaborating with distributed POD teams.
• Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses is a plus.
