TECH SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Java: Backend Development
• Web Sockets/UI Streaming: Tibco Internal messaging (based on pulsar)
• Python: Scripting (not OOP)
• Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture:  80+ microservices running currently, must work on more than one service (all within one application)
• MS SQL/Sybase: Queries/Stored Procedures (from a development standpoint)
• React: front end is only a plus (NOT important)
• Cloud: on prem cloud

A Senior Backend Contract Java Developer job is available with our client, a global investment bank located in NYC. This is a hybrid role that requires candidates to be in commuting distance to the NYC office.

Position Overview

The team is looking for a Senior Java Backend Contractor to work on a global development project within Prime Finance IT. The successful candidate will join a team based in New York to develop and integrate a new global platform built utilizing Service-Oriented-Architecture as part of a broad strategic reengineering program.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Equity Finance Front Office Applications
• Deliver solution from inception to analysis, design, implementation and delivery
• Work closely with the Equity Finance Front Office/Middle Office desks to understand the functions and ensure delivery meets the expectations.
• Partner with Traders, Front and Middle Office user systems support and BAU enhancements
• Work with the Global team to partner in delivery of the solutions

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Background in financial services/investment banking
• Backend Java development
• Middleware Tibco (or similar messaging software)
• Microservices, Python and SQL Queries/Stored Procedures
• Proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions
• Agile development environment
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in mentoring junior developers
